Stop by our store and say hi. Marykate Marine Cleaner Wax only $12. Buy now and save! Rated #1.

Portland Riverside Marina has been in continuous operation for more than 30 years. The marina itself has been in operation since late 1800. Located on 37 acres in Portland, Connecticut, the marina boasts more than a quarter of a mile of frontage on the beautiful Connecticut River just across from the city of Middletown. We have two travel lifts rated at 12 and 35 tons, a 20-ton hydraulic trailer and a 20-ton crane allowing us to service boats up to 50 feet. We offer full mechanical services including total repower of all marine engines as well as carpentry and fiberglass repairs.

Portland Riverside has 74 deep-water
floating slips with water and electricity as well as a number of moorings. Gasoline is available at a nearby marina and the delivery of diesel fuel can be arranged. If you are traveling up the Connecticut River and would like to visit the Portland-Middletown area, call us at (860) 342-1911. At most times during the season, transient slips or moorings are available. Restrooms, a shower, ice and food are available. The center of Portland is a short walk, and Middletown is accessible by crossing the Arrigoni Bridge. Rides are often available at the marina.

Our well-stocked marine store, open seven days a week, has a great variety of items and low prices. See our Spring 2008 Store Flyer and save during our Spring Outfitting Sale! All of the flyer's low prices include tax. Get a free nautical chart of the Connecticut River!

Summer Activities

Portland Riverside is a family marina operating in the old-fashioned tradition. The staff is friendly and welcoming and help is available with just about any kind of problem. Customers are free to work on their boats and good advice is plentiful. Each summer, the marina hosts three parties: Independence Day-July 4th, the August Catfish Tournament and Labor Day.

The marina is located 33 miles north of Old Saybrook. The river is easy to navigate but those new to the river are advised to stay within the wide channel, which is well marked. The swing bridge at Haddam provides approximately 15 ft. clearance at normal high tide and opens for pleasure boat traffic on the half-hour.

Portland is an ideal stop for those cruising to Hartford, which is 20 miles farther north. The cruise to Hartford passes through some of the most beautiful sections of the Connecticut River.

Winter Storage

Portland Riverside is the winter home to hundreds of boats up to 50 feet. Inside storage is available on a first-come basis. Outside storage is plentiful and shrink-wrapping is available. For fitting out in the spring, most locations have water and electric available. The marina's large open travel lift makes it possible to haul most sailboats without mast removal. If desired, masts can be removed and re-stepped with the marina's large crane. They are stored in plastic and under cover.

Call or e-mail us if you are interested in winter storage. Current rates are $25.00 per foot for outside storage and $38.00 per foot inside, if space is available. Call for a quote for boats over 40 feet.
